Winter months are coming, you know what they say, summer body is made in winter. What can you do when you are not snow boarding? anything! Get ready for your winter program, full with mobility, flexibility, strength and conditioning and of course some movement practices to test your training program.
1. DEFINE YOUR TRAINING PLAN
The winter months will come with wet cold days, so make sure you have a plan for these days. Working out indoors can always be fun and productive.
To define your training plan think of it as a whole. Include mobility, flexibility, strength and conditioning and any kind of movement practice to test your training plan. What for are you training? summer body? Competition? Peace of mind? Look good naked? Whatever reason you have, take this in account. The best of training indoor or at home is that you might only need a small space and a big creative mind.
MOBILITY: 4x per week make your mobility training. 1x Shoulders, 1x Thoracic spine, 1x Hips, 1x Ankles.
FLEXIBILITY: 3x per week make your flexibility. Focus in your total body.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING: 2x per week you can focus your training in total body of if you have more time you can always split; upper body-core, lower body-core.
MOVEMENT PRACTICE: 5x per week. Do not hesitate. This is the fun part! when you get to test your athletic skills! choose a topic and go for it. If still do not know what to do in this part, feel free to contact me and I will happy to help.
2. GET A TRAINING BUDDY
Ask your friends to join you, maybe those who are partner in crime for the next summer vacation. Having someone to partner up and do some good to the body will always prolong the motivation and will build the consistency.
3. HIRE A COACH
If you have no clue and the youtube tutorials are not enough, you always have the option to hire professionals and experts of fitness and movement.
4. MAKE A JOURNAL
I will never get tired of telling how positive it is to write everything down regarding food and drinks. It is always eyes opening to really follow up with the fit in winter goal, take your notebook or calendar with you. Do not think I will write it later because later might be to late to remember, I tell you. It has happened to me so many times.
5. STICK WITH YOUR FIT IN WINTER PLAN
How can this be done? Prioritize, put your health and fitness before social events, netflix or hours of scrolling down on instagram. You can do that in a treadmill ;). So no excuses, believe me, you will be happy and feeling accomplished when those winter months are over.
