Today I am going to talk mindset because we work like that, by thought, by mindsets in life. That is how we create our life. If you still think thoughts do not matter then sooner or later you will find out they are powerful tools that either make you successful or not. Here are three great life fundamentals based in Bruce Lee’s philosophy to apply not only in your sport but in life itself.
1.- SELF KNOWLEDGE
Make time to know yourself, to know your habits, your routines, your reactions, your decisions, not to judge but to see what it is there and what can be use to create your life consciously. According to Bruce Lee all type of knowledge ultimately means SELF-KNOWLEDGE. So go deep in you.
“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”-Bruce Lee
2.- EXPRESS YOURSELF
Bruce Lee said “the perfect style is no style” referring of course the way you train but first you have to know by experience what are the styles if you want to be a free styler. Athletes, movers, coachers will share and teach their knowledge based on their experience. Express yourself when you are mature enough to express yourself or express yourself either way. I believe the expression of self comes from somewhere beyond mind, beyond ego. A wise sport or movement practitioner would take the best of the every discipline he/she has chosen and use what works, the rest is gone.
“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successfull personality and duplicate it.”
3.- CONTROL YOUR MOVEMENTS
Bruce Lee talked about natural instinct and control, he said that you have to combine them in harmony. Master been fluent, with movements and with thoughts.
“In order to control myself first I must accept myself by going with and not against my nature”-Bruce Lee
Be like water, my friend. Who do not know this quote? I wonder how many of us really apply this deep and wise introspective in a daily basis. Mindset babes, mindset is what it takes.
